The Bangladesh Doctors Foundation Journal (BDFJ) is the official publication of Bangladesh Doctors Foundation. The journal is published twice a year in the month of January and July. The journal publishes original articles, case reports and reviews in all branches of Medical and Dental sciences.
Manuscripts: One original and two sets of photocopies (should be of excellent quality) and one copy in a compact disc (CD) processed in MS Word (2003 or later) must be submitted to the Editor including the copies of reference papers.
Format: Manuscripts should be typed double-spaced on one side of the paper (size 8.5 x 11 inches) with one inch margins, and pages should be numbered consecutively. Each of the following sections should begin on separate pages as : title page, abstract, text, references, tables and figures.
Title page: The first page of the manuscript should include the title followed by the names of all authors including degrees. Whether the paper is an original article, a review article or a case report; a listing of academic rank or position and the institutional affiliations for each author should be mentioned. The title page should also include the name, address, telephone number, fax number and E-mail address of the author who will receive editorial correspondence and reprint requests.
Abstract : An abstract of the work of no longer than 250 words should be provided. Briefly state the problem or purpose, the methods, the major observations and the principal conclusions.
Key words: Multiple key words of the articles should be mentioned
Introduction : State the purpose or objective of the study.
Materials and Methods /Case Histories : Describe the experimental design procedures and subjects used. Give the details only if the methods are original or essential for understanding; otherwise, give references.
Results : Present the results with a minimum discussion. Use tables, charts, figures and photographs as appropriate to clarify the findings. Mention the methods of statistical analysis if applicable.
Discussion : Point out the significance of data and the limitations. Discuss the findings in the light of other reports including opposing views. Use the last paragraph to suggest your study.

References : Reference should follow the Vancouver format in the text. They should appear as numbers starting at 1 using superscription. At the end of the paper they should be listed in numerical order corresponding to the orders of citation in the text. All authors should be quoted, for papers with more than six authors the first three only should be quoted followed by et al.
Abbreviations for titles of medical periodicals should confirm to those use in the latest editions of Index Medicus. The first and last page numbers for each reference must be checked references against original sources for accuracy. Examples of references are given below :

Tables, Figures and Legends : Tables should be as few as possible and should present only essential data. Each table should be type written on separate sheet, having a title with Roman numbers. All photographs, graphs, diagrams should be referred to as figures and should be numbered consecutively in the text in Arabic numericals. The legends for illustrations should be typed on separate sheets. Photographs should be unmounted glossy prints. A photocopy of all illustration should be submitted.
Proofs : Two marked copies of the proofs may be sent to the principal author which should be read carefully for error/s. One corrected copy must be returned to the Editor within the next seven days. Major alteration in the text cannot be accepted
